“At a recent conversation at The Isha Yoga Centre Coimbatore, one of the thoughts that came up was on “Human Resource” – and how “Human” is not and cannot be a Resource – since a resource is FINITE like Time, Capital and so on, whereas a Human has INFINITE potential to develop and grow and also grow teams and organisations…and this really got me thinking.
After some deliberations, it became apparent to me that this is not just about semantics, but potentially represents a breakthrough of how we need to reimagine how we think about and approach our people and make this a source of competitive advantage…
And hence I am stoked to share that at GEAR, we have now renamed Human Resource to HUMAN POTENTIAL – this is not just a name change, but rather signifies a massive shift in MINDSET of how we need to treat and how we need to think of, of what is undoubtedly our most valuable asset – OUR PEOPLE.
As per us, Human Potential is the vast, untapped capacity for individuals to learn, grow, create, and lead a fulfilling life and moreover to move with high agility. It is a dynamic concept that involves developing skills and aptitudes, aligning with personal values, and adapting to change. Unlocking it is an ongoing process of self-improvement, learning, and self-discovery and we are excited to undertake this journey with our 1000+ (and growing) team members at GEAR.”
